What Not to Flush

One of the more common calls we receive is to clear clogged sewer lines and toilets. We’ve discovered that most of these situations could have been avoided by practicing a little common sense before flushing things down the toilet. Other items should not be flushed as they can be harmful to the environment. Today we’ll share a list of items that commonly are discarded by flushing but shouldn’t be:

  • Disposable Diapers
  • Tampons and Tampon Applicators
  • Cotton Balls and Cotton Swabs
  • Cleaning Wipes of any kind (including Swiffer floor wipes!)
  • Mini or Maxi Pads
  • Condoms
  • Facial Tissue
  • Paint or Chemicals
  • Poisons and hazardous waste
  • Fats or Grease
  • Old Medications
  • Cigarette Butts
  • Paper Towels
  • Goldfish or other small pets
  • Newspaper
  • Socks or Clothes

Basically we all know what a toilet is for. So use it, don’t abuse it, and stay free from clogs!
